Matos’s Favorite Finds from TCEA
Here are my favorite finds from the TCEA (Texas Computer Educators Association) Convention…
Brain break/calming sites
Weave Silk (you can drag a color circle onto another and they blend, the faster your mouse moves the more it shows the 2nd color)
Color Mandala – very good for my symmetrical, organized brain!
Radial Timers
Much less stressful than the traditional bomb countdown!
Amazon’s Leadership Principles
Along the lines of what our students need to be Future Ready… These are the principles that Amazon leaders focus on every time they meet and in every decision they make. A trainer from Amazon shared these and stressed how they guide everything they do.
Canva Presentations
Magic Shortcuts - So fun! Create a quick Canva presentation then when in presentation mode, play with these:

Formative Assessment Tools
Common Sense Media put together a quite inclusive list of formative assessment tools. If you're looking for a way to gather data and feedback from students, check them out. Keep in mind that the tool you select should also be on the list of FISD Approved Apps. If you would like a site evaluated to be added to the list, fill in the "Unblock/Block a Website/Online Application Approval" HelpDesk ticket and select "Online Application Approval".
I also recommend you check out their article titled "Make Formative Assessment More Student Centered.

Catlin Tucker's Virtual Social Learning Spaces
Catlin Tucker recently posted about Enhancing Student Engagement with Virtual Social Learning Spaces. If you teach virtual classes, I recommend you take a look.
Keep in mind that Padlet only allows 3 boards with their free account. Instead, consider using Collaborative Boards in Nearpod (which FISD pays for).
